No culture shock upon arrival! Having been in Japan and China tells already half of the story. Everything starts on the spot: We've been picked up from the airport by Prof. Sungkon Kim, same day we get immigration cards, bank accounts, buy bedsheets and get a brief university tour ending in the space that was assigned to be our office.
Nothing fancy but lots of windows. We are floating above trees. Easily to say for tortured New Yorkers: One of the nicest work places I have EVER worked in. It is because of this bright calm and friendly space that everything else here becomes tolerable.
